Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip is a flavorful, crowd-pleasing appetizer that's made entirely in your slow cooker. This cheesy chicken dip is flavored with ranch seasoning and buffalo sauce.

You're going to love this crock pot buffalo chicken dip because it takes minutes to toss together and it's filled with cheesy buffalo flavor.

Slow cookers are great for keeping hot foods warm for several hours of snack-grazing at a party. Or, if you're going somewhere that doesn't have access to an oven - slow cooker to the rescue.

This buffalo chicken dip is great for football parties, birthdays, holidays, or anytime there's a social gathering with food. Who can resist a cheesy chicken dip?

    Ingredients and substitutions

    Ingredients for buffalo chicken dip.

If buying a rotisserie chicken from your local grocer or deli, the preparation is simple. All you'll have to do is shred about 2 ½ to 3 cups of chicken from your rotisserie chicken for this dip.

You can also shred about 1 pound of cooked chicken breasts and thighs to use instead, or use 1 pound of canned chicken.

Ranch seasoning can be homemade or store bought.

Sharp cheddar cheese can be substituted with pepper jack cheese or monterey jack cheese.

    Ranch seasoning

I seasoned this dip with buffalo sauce (hence the name), but I also added some of my favorite Ranch Seasoning.

If you don't want to make your own, you can use a packet of store bought seasoning instead. And if you don't have either of those, substitute ½ cup of the sour cream with ranch dressing instead.

What to serve with buffalo chicken dip

If serving your buffalo chicken dip straight from your slow cooker, I suggest adding a large spoon for easy portioning. Or, move your dip to a large serving dish with chips or veggies on the side.

What can you serve with your buffalo chicken dip? Here are a few ideas:

    • tortilla chips
    • crackers
    • pork rinds
    • celery
    • carrots
    • bell pepper

Buffalo chicken dip makes a fantastic low carb appetizer. If you, or your guests, are following a low carb diet, I'd suggest serving your dip with pork rinds and fresh veggies.
