Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip is a flavorful, crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s made entirely in your slow cooker. This cheesy chicken dip is flavored with ranch seasoning and buffalo sauce.
I’m always on the hunt for a crowd-pleasing party appetizer. This may be my new favorite! You’re going to love this crock pot buffalo chicken dip because it takes minutes to toss together and it’s filled with cheesy buffalo flavor.
Don’t have a slow cooker? They’re life savers when the oven is full (like on Thanksgiving or Christmas) or you don’t want to heat up the entire house by turning on the oven. I like my classic black crock pot – but how cute is this polka dot black & decker version?
They’re especially great for keeping hot foods warm for several hours of snack-grazing at a party.
Or, if you’re going somewhere that doesn’t have access to an oven – slow cooker to the rescue.
This buffalo chicken dip is great for football parties, birthdays, holidays, or anytime there’s a social gathering with food. Who can resist a cheesy chicken dip?
I seasoned this dip with buffalo sauce (hence the name), but I also added some of my favorite Ranch Seasoning.
If you don’t want to make your own, you can use a packet of store bought seasoning instead. And if you don’t have either of those, substitute 1/2 cup of the sour cream with ranch dressing instead.
And if that weren’t enough – a third option. You’re also welcome to use blue cheese dressing instead of ranch dressing, for a classic buffalo blue cheese flavor pairing.
How to make Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip
Making this buffalo chicken dip in your slow cooker is incredibly easy. First off, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- a rotisserie chicken
- cream cheese
- shredded cheddar cheese
- buffalo sauce
- ranch seasoning
- sour cream
If buying a rotisserie chicken from your local grocer or deli, the preparation is simple. All you’ll have to do is shred about 2 1/2 cups of chicken from your rotisserie chicken for this dip.
Instead, you can also shred 2 cooked boneless skinless chicken breasts, or canned chicken.
Simply toss all of your ingredients into a slow cooker, cover, and cook on low heat for an hour. Once your dip is bubbling around the edges and hot in the center, it’s ready.
Stir once more before serving to make sure all of your ingredients are incorporated.
How to Serve Buffalo Chicken Dip
If serving your buffalo chicken dip straight from your slow cooker, I suggest adding a large spoon for easy portioning. Or, move your dip to a large serving dish with chips or veggies on the side.
What can you serve with your buffalo chicken dip? Here are a few ideas:
- tortilla chips
- pork rinds
- bell pepper
Crock pot buffalo chicken dip makes a fantastic low carb appetizer. If you, or your guests, are following a low carb diet, I’d suggest serving your dip with pork rinds and fresh veggies.
