Ingredients and substitutions
- Graham crackers - Use your favorite flavor of graham crackers to make s'mores. Honey, cinnamon, or chocolate are all excellent choices.
- Marshmallows - Regular size marshmallows work great for a classic s'more. Feel free to use jumbo, square, or stuffed marshmallows to mix things up.
- Chocolate - For a classic s'mores experience, you'll need two Hershey's milk chocolate candy bars to make eight s'mores (you may want more/less chocolate to suit your tastes). Dark chocolate, Reese's, and Ghirardelli squares are other popular options. Chocolate could also be substituted with a dollop of peanut butter or Nutella.
- Place 16 graham cracker squares on a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Top half with marshmallows and the other half with chocolate.
- Place in the oven and turn on the broiler.
- Watch your s'mores until the marshmallows look toasted and golden brown on top.
Tips and tricks
Use parchment paper - For easy cleanup, line your sheet pan with parchment paper before beginning.
Don't walk away - Stand and watch your marshmallows under the broiler. The entire cooking process takes about 1 to 2 minutes and your marshmallows can burn quickly if left unattended.
Add variety - Allow family and friends to customize their oven s'mores with variations like cookies, nut butters, and sprinkles.

S'mores will keep for 3-4 days in a tightly sealed container at room temperature but are best served fresh. Since they only take 1-2 minutes to make (and you don't need to preheat your oven), I highly recommend making a fresh batch each time you'd like a s'more.
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare s'mores as directed below, then bake for up to 5 minutes, or until marshmallows are puffy and golden brown.
