Grilled apple s'mores make the perfect grilled treat for summer and fall. Sliced cinnamon apples are grilled and sandwiched between graham crackers with a toasted, gooey marshmallow.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat, about 375 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. If needed, clean grill grates.
Peel, core, and slice apples into thick, ½ inch slices (you should get about four slices per apple). Immediately brush with melted butter on all sides. Sprinkle with cinnamon (and if using unsalted butter, a pinch of salt).
Wipe grill grates lightly with oil, then place apple slices onto the grill grates. Watching carefully (do not walk away), cook for about 2 minutes, or until grill marks appear. Flip and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, or until softened to your liking. Carefully remove from heat.
Skewer marshmallows and cook over grill grates/coals until toasted to your liking.
Break graham cracker rectangles in half to make 16 squares. Place apple slices onto half of your graham crackers, then top with roasted marshmallows and remaining graham crackers. Enjoy!
Notes
Firm apples work best for grilling - granny smith, pink lady, fuji, gala, or honeycrisp are great choices.
Customize your s'mores with optional toppings like chocolate bars, caramel ice cream topping, peanut butter, or apple butter.
Leftover grilled apples will keep for 3 or more days in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
